This is the same update that was in our most recent email, however, I want to leave it here for anyone who may not be subscribed to our emails. This is our most up-to-date current status, and I will be updating with more very soon.
With the exception of the full restocks mentioned in our previous email update*, our inventory clear-out is well on its way, and we are getting down to slim pickings and high time for some forward momentum. Here is as far as I can see for the time being:
We will continue on with the shop clear-out until we are exactly that, cleared out. This is serving multiple purposes. It is clearing out literal, physical space to make changes and introduce new processes. We were maxed out and starting to feel a little suffocated in such a small space. It is also clearing out mental space. With full transparency, I was working so hard trying to stay afloat and on top of the workload, that I couldn't even find it in me to conceptualize anything different. I was too busy trying to survive what already was. Our catalogue is far too large for one person. This reduction will work wonders in the ability to pivot appropriately in response to current challenges. Lastly, it is helping us keep our doors open while in limbo. Without this sale bridging the gap of what was, to what is coming, we would have had to permanently close our shop long ago. So, when I say thank you all for your support during this time, know I mean that with every fiber of my being.
Speaking of what's coming. We now have an official special order window time frame. The special orders will occur once a year. They will open in February and extend to March (if not all the way through March. We will need to see how the first one goes to scope out demand and timing). This will be the only time you can order anything that will become discontinued between now and then. Anything from our original collection. Everything will be made-to-order, so naturally, that time frame will have extended processing times. Much like we are in now. However, fingers crossed we have some helping hands by that time.
Coming in August will be my very first launch since our partial closing and a peak into a new look for Ghoulish Goods. I have undergone 5 years of perfumery studies since we first shifted away from fragrance oil. I am very much not the same perfumer today as I was when creating our entire existing collection. This will be the very first time I have had the opportunity to showcase the evolution that has taken place. A different DNA of sorts, that streamlines through the full collection and resonates on a different level. This will start small, very small. 3-4 scents (there will be samples offered as well). That way all attention can be on quality and implementing new processes. Everything sharper, cleaner, faster. Taking the lessons learned from past failures and applying them to a fresh start. This collection will feature EDPs and much larger bottle sizes and variations. The subject matter of the collection and how it will look are still under way and will be held for just a little longer before a reveal. However, the road to August will be interesting. I plan to return to social media soon to share this process with you all in a more up-close way.
I suspect everyone here already loves Ghoulish Goods and the DNA it has at current. We will not be losing the heart of GG. This will start as a designated collection and may grow into its own separate entity. I will still be working on new and improved goods that are true to our roots. Those will come slowly over time as we feel out this next chapter. Nothing too fast or rushed. This an era of careful intention and sustainability.

*The restock update from our previous email, as mentioned above, read as follows:
"A handful of our most popular scents keep selling out too quickly for everyone to get their hands on. Since all our perfumes are moving to a yearly special-order window once the clear-out is complete, we have come to two conclusions.
(1) Given the turnaround times, it does not seem feasible to have our first special-order window in the same year as the current inventory clear-out.
(2) Therefore, we will be restocking the sold-out scents for one full batch restock. That way there is fair opportunity for everyone to get what they want to hold them over to the next opportunity. The scents included in this restock are:
Femme Fatale, Graveyard, Singed & Unhinged, Stains of Scarlet, Cottagecore No.1, Moth Milk, and Cursed Carnival"
